オンコノ実、タルマニフレツプ、【蝦夷藻汐草】、開拓使の列品にてハヲンコノ木（方言）の根株を刳（ゑく）りて火筩（ひばち）と為す者数窩あり、ヲンコハ北海の名材、色理共に美なる事、飛騨高山の一位木に伯仲す、故其板材ハ机案となし、匣筥と為す、皆見る可し、今其大なる者を以て火筩に製したるハ雅味無きにあらすと雖も、価甚廉ならさるに似たり惜むべし、蓋し其地の工費に因つて然るならん、｛明治十四年博覧会、朱書｝｛十四年三月廿三日報知新聞栗本鋤雲評、朱書｝
