Translation

左ノ通田中ヨリ中越候得共、内考之趣有之候而不遣候、熟考スベキ件ナリキ／貴書拝見、図説二冊外袋一ツ落手一覧仕候処、是即拙之希望之品にして、早川忠道氏所集の者也、而して八冊皆同物之標本なるも説御ハ一冊ニ精く、二冊ハ少し認め、三冊以下八ニ至る迄同物にして説なし、是ハ書入候得者皆同様之者となして働くもの也、夫故先年拝見之望、各冊へ文字可仕候間、夫々へ分配して広く吉用をなし度、殊ニ細川君之如きは此区別ニ大ニ骨折居候人
