性羸瘦シテ実ヲ結フコト多ク、材質腐朽シ易キ樹トナリ、人ノ其枝ヲ採テ種々ナル土質地形ノ地ニ〓挿セシニ由リ遂ニ其様ヲ変化シ分レテ「ミスキ」、ホンスキ、クロスギ」等トナリシナリ、以上論スル所ヲ以テ之ヲ観レハ、到底杉樹ハ一種ノミ、数種アル者ニ非ス、故ニ世人ノ種類ナリト謂フ者ハ之ヲ変性ト云ハヽ可ナリ、之ヲ種類ト云ハヽ則チ不可ナリ、蓋シ種類ハ天然固有ノ者ニシテ、変性ハ他物ノ為ニ其様ヲ変セシ者ニ過キサレハナリ
