Translation

花史雑記、山躑躅ニ赤花と紫花之二品ある事を云に、此の紫花之者ハ名古屋近郊ニ多くありて赤花ヨリ花早く少し大なりと存候、東国にて更ニ無之候、紫ハ他国ニなきと見へ啓蒙ニも紫花を云ひて遂ニミツバツヽジとなしたり、他書に此紫花之事を挙くる少し、然とも小生之覚前記之通り存候、果して然るや否御尋上候、○印之処を御示しを乞ふ、二十一年十二月六日、田芳、伊藤篤君
