山形県勧業課石川須磨氏多年ノ刻苦勉励ニ因テ此三種ノ槭樹ヨリ砂糖ヲ製造ス、其色淡赭ナレトモ、結晶ノ粗大ナルニヨリ恰モ砕タル氷糖ノ如シ、且、三四年来製スル所ニ比スレバ一層ノ好結果ヲ得テ、本年得ル所ノ糖量十一貫目アリト、此樹ハ羽前ノ山中ニハ大木多シト云フ、糖ヲ製スルハ春芽ノ出ル頃ナレトモ北海道ニテハ何月ニテモ液出ルト云ヘリ、此三種ノ葉ヲ以テ論スルトキハ大ナル差違ハナキ様ナレトモ貴鑿ヲ乞フ、十三年十一月五日、田中芳男、伊藤老先生、尚此墨摺ハ差上置ニテ宜シ／平田蔵書
