全体：独幹ノモノアリト雖モ多クハ一根数本ヲ潅生シ、或ハ半身数幹ヲ分ツ、山野ニアルモノハ矮小ナル多シ、適地：山野ニ自生ス、諸国有ラサルナシ、実植：下種シテ生シ易シ、苗植：根旁多ク小木ヲ生ス、分植スヘシ、〓条：嫩枝ヲ〓挿シテ活シ易シ、材質：其材白色ニシテ堅重肌理頗ル緻密ナリ、又粘力有テ折レス、効用：印版印材トナシ或ハ櫛ヲ作リ、鏇作ノ材ニ充テ黄楊ニ代用ユルトモ粗ニシテ劣レリ、又鑿柄テ作ルニ此材ヲ用ユ故ニ鑿子木ノ称アリ、○庭院ニ栽テ風趣アリ、雑説：民家此木ヲ以テ掛蚕木ト為ノ故ニ其地方ニハ新年ニ団餅ヲ作リ此樹ニ掛ルノ俗アリ
