長崎見聞録ニ如奇樹、長崎故丁・・・・―秋実ヲ結フ大サ豆ノ如ク、炒テ食フニ堪タリ、漢名梧桐、アヲギリ／六月三日ニアリ、梧桐、可精検、三尖ハ三尖、五尖ハ五尖ト歟■ナリト或云フト、疑ハシ／樹皮ヲ剥キ縄ヲナフ、此葉ニ村民煙草ニ代フルモノモアリ、薩州ニテハ村民コノ樹皮ノ枝ヲ伐リテ之ヲ水ニ浸シ置ハ皮ト村ノ間ヨリ粘滑ノ液出ツ之ヲ南五味子（ビナンカズラ）ノ代トナシタル頭髪ニ塗ルト云／花梗ハ長ク穂ヲナシ、細梗ヲ分チ黄白色ノ細花攅簇ス、ソノ周辺ニ■■ソノ実ハ筋ナシ、熟スレハ破開シ、円実ヲ熟ス
