Translation
（乾隆）鎮江府志云、第山池中有小龍子、状類蜥蜴（トカゲ）腹下朱書若符篆、蓋霊物也、此虫近郊処処池沢中皆産ス、形ハ蜥蜴ニ似テ背黒腹正赤鱗甲ナシ、好テ交ル、俚人以テ媚薬トス、享和甲子初夏、金魚ヲ過売スル者齎来ヲ見ル、其生物熟見シテ、写呟フ者ヲ見ス、紅蠑螈、寒泉子蔵スル処、虫類図ニ載スル紅蠑螈註ニ云、全体純赤者稀所得、文化三丙寅三月十五日親視而為奇品、姑図以同好君子示赤者背上
