The Tokai National Higher Education and Research System Academic Digital Archive was established to collect and make available to the public digitized academic resources, such as old documents, photographs, drawings, and specimens ("academic resources") that have been collected primarily for academic research and are stored in various departments and divisions within the Tokai National Higher Education and Research System.
The construction of this digital archive is being carried out as part of the Basic Plan for the Development of Academic Data Infrastructure, which began consideration in 2021, and as part of the academic research initiative of the Basic Plan for the Digital University Initiative, 2023.
