The collection of plant specimens stored in the Herbarium of Gifu University Local History Museum, Faculty of Education is mainly voucher specimens collected in Gifu Prefecture and its neighboring areas for “Flora of Gifu, Japan”. It also includes many rare and endemic species that are deeply related to the selection of the prefecture's Red List, and specimens cited in flora research.
In addition, materials related to the specimens, such as flora and vegetation from around the country, taxonomic publications, plant guides, as well as literature from the Gifu Botanical Society and the Gifu Flora Research Committee, are placed in the anterior room and made available to the Herbarium users.
