Translation

「謹呈、近頃ハ意外之御疏潤仕リ候処益御清穆奉賀候、然ハ此果物ハ長州萩ニ而数十年前長崎より伝ヘ植たるものゝ由にて、夏ダイダイ又夏クネンボと申候由、即来候間一顆分呈仕候、御嘗可被下候、頗る酸味なれ共糖を加へ至極之美味となる、右ハ他州にも有之候哉如何御教示被下度候、此段書中相伺徐々拝眉可申上候、匆々頓首拜、七月四日、田中芳男　伊藤先生侍使、尚々一昨年も貰候而同ク可有之候」
