Translation

○泥虫駆除法の門、背に泥を負ひ、形小豆程の色黒き虫あり、名て泥虫と云ふ、水田挿秧の後、直に葉上に登りて青き部を喰尽し、満田をして白色たらしむ、故に稲草ハ再ひ新葉を発するも勢力既に衰へたれば、大に収穫を減す、農家一般に之を患ひ、竹棹に縄をカラミ、田の中に立ちて苗先を動かし、之を水中に落すなれとも、該虫死せるにあらされば、再ひ登（ノボリ）りて、更に害を為すを止めす、殆んど良駆除法なきに苦しみ候、何卒良法御教示伏して希上候、｛明治十六年五月五日、【農業雑誌】、朱書｝／ドロムシ
